Frequently Asked Questions

Let's Find The Answers

Do you take insurance?

No. I am currently an out of network provider, so I do not accept insurance.  I will provide you with an invoice (aka superbill) that includes the information insurance companies require (CPT billing codes, diagnosis, etc.) so you can submit a request for reimbursement from your insurance company. Check with your insurance company to see if they reimburse for psychotherapy with out of network providers.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, debit and credit credit cards, or paypal.

What precautions are you taking for COVID19?

COVID19 is an airborne, highly transmissible virus that can be spread to others even when someone who acquired the virus is asymptomatic. Our clinic staff and providers follow CDC guidelines for providing non-covid medical care, including adhering with infection prevention measures like requiring proper hand hygiene, cleaning and disinfecting of patient care areas, and social distancing whenever possible.  I have a 4 in 1 medical grade H13 True HEPA filter (99.7%), Ionizer, Carbon + UV-C Sanitizer Air Purifier running in my office. Following recent changes in CDC guidelines, masks are no longer required to be worn in the clinic. Patients are welcome to wear masks in session and may request that I wear a mask. It is important to recognize there is no way to guarantee safety for clinic visits so psychotherapy services are offered for all patients via the HIPAA secure telehealth platform, Doxy.Me. Patients who are sick are encouraged to utilize the option for telehealth appointments, wear a mask to clinic or reschedule their clinic appointment to mitigate risks of infection transmission for staff and other patients.  See the links below for more information about COVID19 and how telehealth services are provided.

Can I have some face-to-face appointments and some telehealth appointments?

Of course. It's entirely based on your preference and needs. Using the Doxy.me telehealth platform allows for completing intake forms, sharing session materials, and connecting to appointments from any smart device or computer with a webcam with a click to secure virtual meeting room link sent to your email address or via text message. Call our clinic for appointment availability and request your preferred method for the intake appointment.

Do you provide telehealth services in my state?

I am licensed to provide clinic and telehealth services in Texas. I can also provide telehealth services to individuals who reside in any of the following states:
Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia,
Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada,
New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia

How do telehealth appointments work?

Doxy.me is a HIPAA secure telehealth platform that allows us to send you an email or text link for your appointment. After you call our clinic to schedule an appointment, you simply click on the link at the time of your appointment. It's that easy. Doxy.me creates a secure connection to a video appointment and allows us to collect and share forms, share screens with each other, communicate via chat during video appointments, and more. Patients can use any smartphone, tablet, or computer with a webcam because logins and special software are not required.
